ABOUT US

Community Book & Dance Academy (DBA) Pahokee Dance Academy is a non-profit 501-c3 Enrichment Dance Program dedicated to getting children excited about reading through the art of dance. Pahokee Dance Academy was founded on a vision that the arts are essential for every child’s complete development and education. The expectation is not that all children will become professional dancers, although some will. However, all children will experience the joy of creating movements through ballet, modern dance, jazz, African, hip-hop, choreography, and enriching the community through the universal art form of storytelling.

Founded by Linda Agyapong in 1996, Pahokee Dance Academy enriches the community through its outreach programs, and community performances. An Artistic Director, classically trained Opera Singer, Ballet Teacher, Children Book Specialist, Playwriter, and Producer, Ms. Linda established this company with the purpose of “Literacy Development”. She has written 18 original children plays. The link between the arts and literacy is one that can enrich and enhance any reading and language program. Located in Palm Beach County, Pahokee Dance Academy offer classes to students beginning at age 3 years old. For more information call (561) 771-7004.
